New member firm in Algeria for BDO

November 2010

BDO, the world’s fifth largest accountancy network, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new member firm in Algeria, effective 1 November 2010.
Originally operating under the name ORFICO, BDO Algeria was founded in 1969 and the current managing partner, Amine Zerhouni, joined the firm in that role in 1999. In the last several years, the firm has seen significant growth, both in terms of revenues and staff numbers: for the year ending 31 December 2009 they saw a turnover of €507K and had 19 staff, including 3 partners, based in their office in Algiers.

The firm’s primary service offering is accounting and outsourcing, together with auditing, including treasury, tax and company secretarial services.
Managing Partner Amine Zerhouni is very pleased to be assuming full membership of BDO: “We have been undertaking referral work from the international BDO network for a number of years and would like to thank all those firms who gave us that trust and allowed us to start building relationships with BDO and its people. In all our dealings with BDO we have found them to be exceptional – in terms of knowledge and expertise, willingness to assist, quality of service delivery and much more. It is an honour to be joining BDO and, as our stated mission is to be among the best accounting firms in Algeria, I have no doubt that membership of BDO will help us to achieve this goal”.
Jeremy Newman, CEO of BDO, adds “Our strategy for Africa is based upon the fact that it is becoming an increasingly important continent for our clients and we are therefore pleased to increase our network’s representation there. BDO aims to give effective support to our clients as they expand into new areas of the world and, with BDO Algeria, we are adding highly qualified partners and staff with a great deal of relevant experience. Having already performed some work on the network’s behalf, I am sure that BDO Algeria will continue to assist the network as a whole in delivering the best possible professional advice”.
