Albert Au, managing partner of BDO McCabe Lo Limited, Hong Kong, was appointed by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (HKSAR) as a member of the Corruption Prevention Advisory Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) for a two years period commencing from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2008.
The Terms of Reference of this committee are:
1. To receive and call for reports from the Commission about practices and procedures of government departments, public bodies and the private sector which may be conducive to corruption and to advise the Commissioner what areas should be examined and the degree of priority to be accorded to each.
2. To consider recommendations arising from such examinations and to advise the Commissioner on further actions to be taken.
3. To monitor action taken to implement recommendations made on the advice of the Corruption Prevention Advisory Committee.
