Canada: BDO Dunwoody opens offices in the Atlantic provinces

BDO Dunwoody and Goodman Rosen announced a merger on May 28. Expanding one of Canada's most comprehensive financial recovery practices, BDO Dunwoody Limited, which is part of BDO Dunwoody LLP, is a Trustee in Bankruptcy. They have agreed with Goodman Rosen Inc., Trustee in Bankruptcy, to merge their professional practices effective 1 July 2007. In Halifax and Sydney (Nova Scotia), the merged firm will operate as BDO Dunwoody Goodman Rosen Inc.
BDO Dunwoody Limited will continue to operate and grow Financial Recovery Practices throughout the rest of Canada. BDO Dunwoody Limited holds one of Canada's first corporate licenses as a Trustee in Bankruptcy and presently has 120 partners and professional staff nationwide.

The merger enables the Goodman Rosen professionals to join a dedicated group of financial recovery specialists within a national network of professionals and access their resources. The combination will enable the firm to offer its clients an expanded range of services, while allowing BDO Dunwoody Limited to more effectively serve the Atlantic Canada marketplace.

Goodman Rosen Inc. is a boutique professional services firm that was established as a predecessor organization by Paul Goodman, FCA, FCIRP, FIIC in 1998 after spending 28 years with one of Canada's largest accounting firms. In 2002, after 18 years with another national firm, Mark Rosen, LLB, FCIRP joined Mr. Goodman under the present firm name. The Goodman Rosen team offers professional advice and experienced assistance to individuals and businesses undergoing financial difficulties and has been involved in many of Atlantic Canada's most significant insolvency and business restructuring situations.
