Jeremy Newman, who is taking over as CEO of BDO International, has launched a new weblog today.
Already a familiar figure in the blogosphere - in his previous role as Managing Partner of the UK BDO Member Firm, Jeremy was known for his blog, then the only one by a senior individual within the financial services market - in his new international role he intends to continue airing his opinions and inviting debate online.
Hosted on www.bdointernational.com the new blog is fully interactive and contains a link to his archived UK blog; as ever, visitors are invited to comment on the site and to contribute to ongoing debate. Topics will be themed as before and, although many postings on his previous blog revolved around issues such as competition and choice in the accountancy profession, these may not feature so prominently for international readers. As he says in his maiden posting today, “…whilst competition and choice… is an issue in most countries, the reasons for this and possible solutions to it are far from universal. There are common themes and I will comment on these in the coming weeks and months as I gain a better understanding of how all the issues affect firms in different countries.”
