The IT Support Analyst works alongside the various departments of BDO’s International Executive Office (IEO), helping them to identify and qualify their IT needs and assisting them where necessary. He/ she manages a range of IT initiatives projects for the benefit of the international BDO network and is also responsible for the day to day operations of the IEO systems (email, intranet, active directory, applications, interfaces etc.), as well as supporting the IEO end users.
A full time employee of Brussels Worldwide Services BVBA (BWS), located in Brussels, Belgium, the IT Support Analyst reports to the Director of IT, based in the USA.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Review, analyse and evaluate IT systems requests to support the IEO’s overall business needs, including: documenting requirements, defining project scope and objectives, managing budget, and the implementation from start to finish (e.g. SharePoint, LMS, survey tools etc.)
- Provide basic system analysis for planning, implementation and quality assurance testing of assigned projects, as required,
- Work with IEO management on IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance
Work with the Director of IT on related projects for IEO and the BDO network (e.g. SharePoint related project)
- Liaise with IT systems developers, both internal and external, in pursuit of IEO and network requirements
- Manage external IT vendors providing service and support for the IEO: contracts, billing, service level agreements project follow up etc.
- Coordinate appropriate teams and resources to ensure that system rollout communications and training materials are made available where relevant
- Coordinate technical and support teams to ensure a smooth transition from system implementation to production and the ongoing support phases of a system’s lifecycle
- Act as a point of escalation for support teams and vendors to troubleshoot ad hoc systems issues
- Maintain accountability to functional sponsors and business owners sponsors for continuous improvement of processes and systems within their areas of responsibility

Education and professional skills/ knowledge
- Minimum four years experience managing and supporting IT systems and operations
Experience of managing external vendors and developers; negotiation skills
- Minimum one year experience running projects: knowledge of project management software development methodologies
- Presentation skills
- Confidence in dealing with all levels of the organisation (within IEO, business units, wider network)
- Lead and participate productively in meetings
- Training skills
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Other languages an asset
- Ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems
- Flexible work approach
- IT degree
- Appropriate IT qualifications: Microsoft SharePoint expertise a requirement; Microsoft MCITP certification and knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft SQL Server a plus
The candidate will have the ability to work within a small multicultural environment in Brussels and with decentralised teams across the world, handling a variety of hands-on tasks. Some travel required. The compensation package is commensurate with experience.
