New to this year’s survey is the BDO Global Risk Index. This index shows the top twenty countries deemed as being most risky to invest in by CFOs. (Note: CFOs were asked to assess the risk of investing in 88 countries from a prompted list)
Three of the four BRIC countries are considered amongst the top twenty risky markets; Russia ranks ninth, China thirteenth, and India twentieth (Brazil narrowly escapes, ranking twenty second). This shows that, while BRIC countries are seen as attractive markets for investment, they also come with some inherent perceived risk.
